This version attaches to your camera's shoe mount and connects to the camera's external audio input via the included 3.5mm cable. Two AA batteries supply power for the preamp and 48V phantom power for condenser microphones, making this version well suited for use with mirrorless/DSLR models from Nikon and many other manufacturers.

Run time is variable depending on the type of batteries and mic inputs used, with alkaline models supplying between 3 and 6 hours of operation, while lithium-ion batteries will keep the unit running for between 8 and 14.5 hours.
