	    PHOTOCHEM Sodium Thiocyanate 500gm (05506-0500)

Sodium thiocyanate (chemical formula: NaSCN) is a colorless, water-soluble salt composed of sodium (Na⁺) and thiocyanate (SCN⁻) ions. It is commonly used in chemical synthesis, analytical chemistry, and various industrial processes. In photography, sodium thiocyanate is sometimes used as a silver halide solvent, particularly in specialized development and intensification processes. It can alter the activity of fixing agents or enhance the contrast of negatives by partially dissolving fine-grain silver halide particles, making the remaining image appear denser and sharper. While not as commonly used as other darkroom chemicals, sodium thiocyanate plays a role in contrast control and image enhancement, especially in advanced or alternative photographic techniques.
