Founder - Lord Baden-Powell
Lord Robert Baden-Powell of Gilwell, Founder of Scouting and
World Chief Scout died in Kenya on January 8, 1941 at the
age of 83. Soldiers and Scouts, black and white escorted the
coffin to a simple grave at Nyeri, within sight of Mount Kenya.

Modern Day Scouting
Scouting is Victoria's largest youth organisation with more
than 25,500 members, including 5,200 adult volunteers. Australian
Scouts are members of the 25 million strong World Scouting
Movement in 217 countries and territories.
Scouting world-wide is celebrating 92 years of youth leadership,
community service, international networks and of encouraging
positive values in young people.
The Aim of Scouts Australia, Victorian Branch is to encourage
the physical, mental, social and spiritual development of
young people so that they may take a constructive place in
society as responsible citizens.
Scout activities include caving, camping, flying, water activities,
parascending, abseiling, rock climbing, conservation, bike
hikes, canoeing, snow skiing, first aid, friendship, social
activities plus lots more.
Scouting is a voluntary, multicultural, non-political, non-denominational,
educational and developmental movement for young people.
Scouting is for boys and girls aged 6 to 25 years; youth members
can join at any age or level.
